Swimwear Cape Town

I have always been fascinated by fashion photography. The first time I truly remember this passion was during a voluntary internship I did when I was just 16 years old. I looked through model portfolios filled with stunning photoshoots. These images portrayed an elevated, almost ethereal version of the models, yet the individuals in front of you were just ordinary people with down-to-earth personalities and natural smiles. I was amazed by what could be achieved with a bit of light, makeup, styling, and posing – crafting an abstract representation of someone. Something unique that transcended the everyday. It added a touch of sophistication and extravagance to the ordinary.

When I started my photography journey, I initially aimed for high-fashion shoots. However, I soon realized that the fashion industry itself wasn’t my calling. As a former model and magazine editor, I found the industry to be superficial and devoid of humanity. Simultaneously, while establishing myself as a wedding photographer, I discovered the opposite – heartwarming connections and abundant appreciation for my presence and work.

After several years in the wedding photography business, I felt the urge to create something purely for myself. An idea I had long wished to bring to life – a swimwear editorial. So, I organized a portfolio shoot, enlisted Nevena through her modeling agency, ICE Models, and curated a selection of swimwear.

For the location, I opted for an Airbnb studio belonging to a friend, giving off a tropical and Mexican vibe that perfectly suited my vision.
